Sinnoh Region

Sinnoh (Japanese: シンオウ地方 Shin'ō-chihō) is the fourth region in the Pokemon franchise and is known for its mountainous terrain, mythological themes, and cold climate. Introduced in Generation IV with Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Sinnoh is based on the real-world Hokkaido region of Japan. The region is characterized by its central mountain range, legendary Pokemon tied to creation mythology, and significant mechanical innovations to the Pokemon series.[1]
